We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a safe experience while using our application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the V-APP mobile application and its associated backend services.
Safety disclosure: V-APP collects real-time sensor data and location telemetry (including in the background) to detect accidents and coordinate emergency rescue broadcasts to your nominees.
When you create a V-APP account, we collect your name and mobile phone number. Your phone number is verified via a one-time password (OTP) using Firebase Authentication (a Google service). If you sign in with a Google account, we also collect the email address associated with that account. We additionally store a device push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver emergency alerts to your device.
To provide core emergency safety services, V-APP requires access to your device's location. When Rider Mode is active, V-APP collects your precise geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) even when the application is closed or running in the background. This data is used to:
V-APP reads movement telemetry from your device's internal sensors, specifically the accelerometer and gyroscope. We process these high-frequency readings locally on your device to identify strong impact forces indicative of a collision. This sensor data is processed temporarily in memory and is not stored permanently unless a crash incident occurs.
When you register emergency nominees, we collect their phone numbers and names. This information is stored in our secure database. We do not access or upload your entire contact book. The contact picker is used locally on your device only to allow you to nominate specific helpers manually.

We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS/SSL encryption for all data transfers, MongoDB secure authentication, and sanitized backend endpoints to prevent unauthorized access to your account and location telemetry.
We retain your account information and SOS event history for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by emailing us at vapp.admin@gmail.com from your registered contact details. Upon verification, we will delete your account data, including your profile, nominee list, and SOS history, within a reasonable timeframe.
You can enable or disable Rider Mode at any time directly from the application dashboard. You can also revoke Location Permissions or Sensor Access in your Android System Settings at any time, though this will disable automatic crash detection and rescue alerting features.
